Based on feedback gathered from the community poll sent at the close of last year’s GardenWalk, the GWL Board has decided to try something new in 2026:

This year’s GardenWalk will focus exclusively on gardens located in the south end of Lakewood (south of Detroit Avenue).

Many of you shared that while you loved the breadth and variety of gardens, there were simply too many to see in one day and truly enjoy each space. Concentrating the walk in one geographic area allows visitors to take their time, explore more thoughtfully, and experience the gardens without feeling rushed.

By annually rotating between North and South Lakewood, we also offer half our gardeners a well‑earned year off from hosting that allows them the opportunity to stroll, learn, and gather inspiration as visitors before welcoming others into their own gardens again.

And, just like gardening itself, this is an experiment. If we find this approach doesn’t work as well as hoped, we’ll adjust and evolve. After all, trial and error is part of the "growth" process.​
